HPCL Project

Overview

Speco Steel Projects has partnered with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) on roofing and ceiling systems for 200+ fuel stations across India, spanning multiple states and regions. This is one of our longest-running Oil Marketing Company (OMC) relationships, reflecting consistent delivery against HPCL's structural, safety, and branding specifications over repeated projects.

The Challenge

• 1.Consistency across geographies — stations built in different states still need to meet the same HPCL structural and branding standards, regardless of local contractor variation or site conditions.
• 2.Compliance at scale — every canopy and roofing structure has to meet fire-safety norms (per NBC 2016 guidelines) and HPCL's internal engineering specifications, station after station.
• 3.Varied site conditions — pan-India coverage means designing for very different climates and soil/wind-load conditions, from high-rainfall regions to areas with extreme summer heat.
• 4.Minimal disruption — most of this work involves either new-build stations or retrofits/upgrades at operating stations, where fuel supply cannot be interrupted during construction.

Our Approach

• 1.Standardized engineering, site-adapted execution. We work from a consistent structural design language that meets HPCL's specifications, then adapt span, materials, and foundation detailing to each site's local conditions.
• 2.Fabrication-first quality control. Steel components are fabricated and quality-checked at our facility before dispatch, reducing on-site variability and rework across a large, distributed rollout.
• 3.Direct compliance alignment. Our designs are built around current fire-safety and structural norms applicable to fuel-retail outlets, rather than adapted from generic industrial shed structures.
• 4.Regional logistics planning. For pan-India coverage, we plan transport and installation crews regionally to keep timelines predictable across states.

Results

• 1.200+ HPCL stations completed with roofing and canopy systems across multiple regions of India
• 2.A long-standing, repeat relationship with HPCL — reflecting consistent quality and compliance across a large volume of projects rather than one-off engagements
• 3.Structures designed to withstand varied regional climate conditions while maintaining consistent HPCL branding and structural standards

Why This Matters for Fuel Station Roofing Buyers

A project of this scale demonstrates something that's hard to show any other way: repeatable quality across many sites, not just one well-executed showcase project. For OMCs and station owners evaluating a roofing partner, that track record — 200+ stations for one client alone, within our broader 25,000+ project history — is a more reliable signal than a single case study photo.
